CloudEARTHi is proud to announce the publication of a new paper titled “Integration of AI Training in the Field of Higher Education in the Republic of Bulgaria: An Overview”, authored by Svilen Simeonov, Firgan Feradov, Angel Marinov, and Tamer Abu-Alam. This groundbreaking research represents a significant milestone for the CloudEARTHi Initiative, particularly within the BOOSTalent project, as it showcases the wealth of knowledge collected within the CloudEARTHi ecosystem and its potential impact on the international academic community.
The paper, published in Education Sciences (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3390/educsci14101063), offers a comprehensive evaluation of AI integration in higher education programs across Bulgaria, shedding light on the current state of AI courses and degree programs. It underscores the pressing need for strategic curriculum adaptation to bridge the skills gap and prepare future professionals for the demands of the AI-driven labor market.
“This publication is a cornerstone for CloudEARTHi. It not only reflects our commitment to deep tech excellence but also marks the beginning of our knowledge-sharing journey with the global academic community” said Dr. Tamer Abu-Alam, one of the paper’s co-authors and coordinator of the CloudEARTHi Initiative.
The BOOSTalent project, funded under the HEI EIT initiative by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, aims to empower higher education institutions to lead innovation. This publication is the first in a series of scientific contributions expected from the CloudEARTHi network. Two additional manuscripts from the SEEDplus and Inspiring the Minds projects are currently in preparation.
The new research highlights the necessity for a more accelerated integration of AI education in higher education institutions to meet both student and labor market demands. It calls for broader AI curriculum integration, particularly in fields beyond Informatics and Computer Science, to ensure a workforce capable of navigating the AI-driven future.
